Giant Puppet Costume – Amédée

Assisted Emma Waugh and cutter Liz Coleman to create clothing for a giant puppet. This included long johns, a long sleeved vest and 2 pairs of socks for the Birmingham Rep production Amédée 24 Feb - 11 Mar 2017 By Eugene Ionesco, freely adapted by Sean Foley.
Design & Construction
Giant shoulder pads were made to help give the puppets shoulders more shape and to help the fit of the top.
The fabric was provided and we made large ribbed cuffs for wrists and ankles.
I put velcro on the waistband of the trousers and the connecting side was attached to the puppet. The puppet gets dragged across the stage so this was to ensure his trouser didn't fall down.
